Huld

While just a few years ago AI was as uncharted territory as space for many people, it is now an integral part of the daily lives of a large percentage of people. And it is the possibilities of using artificial intelligence in space research and applications that Huld is working on. It is a Czech technology company that has long focused primarily on software development in the field of space technology and exploration. Its immense contribution includes the support and development of capable young people.

One of the company’s achievements in space technology is its participation in the HERA mission to the binary planet Didymos and its moon Dimorphos, which ESA and its contractors have been working on for several years. Huld is involved in this mission through the development of the on-board software for the Milani nanosatellite. Work on the project includes the development of software for the data processing unit, but also the development of visual navigation for deep space navigation.

Let us return for a moment to the question of the use of artificial intelligence in space. Specifically, Huld has embarked on the development of a system using artificial intelligence in the area of anomaly detection, or a system that should use artificial intelligence to detect if a navigation system is jammed or tampered with, alert it to this fact and then provide a position correction.
